Jacob Mudd
Jacob's knowledge comes from both theory and real-world application — wiring, welding, and minimizing downtime when production lines stall.
His expertise comes out of heavy industry, where precision and safety aren't optional. Over nearly a decade he went from a code welder on high-pressure steam and sulfuric piping inside Archer Daniels Midland's Decatur complex to running warehouse and fabrication operations. Along the way he helped launch Project Thinkwell, a Decatur maker space, and picked up early AV repair work — the start of a long run in hands-on electronics.
The move to Colorado pushed that further: skilled fabrication, electrical design and integration work, and a full operations role over people, materials, and timelines. Underneath all of it runs a deep command of electronics — embedded systems, power and control circuits, and the low-level design that battery and energy systems actually depend on.
That's what defines JLJ Energy Consulting: an uncommon mix of fabrication, large-scale energy experience, and real electronics know-how, led by someone who's built, wired, and run these systems firsthand — and can carry a project from spec to commissioning without the wheels coming off.
